Milwaukee M18 FUEL Cordless 5 in. Random Orbit Sander

This is the upgraded version of Milwaukee’s 5" random orbit sander. It’s more powerful than the standard M18 model, but for me, one of the biggest reasons to consider spending the extra money is the improved dust collection and ability to connect it directly to a vacuum.
 
Paired with something like the Giraffe Tools retractable vacuum, you can leave the vacuum set up in the shop, pull the hose over when you’re sanding, and collect a lot of the dust right at the tool instead of sending it all over your workspace. For bigger projects or anyone sanding regularly, that alone can make the upgrade much more appealing.
 
If you only need a sander occasionally, I think the less expensive Milwaukee M18 model works perfectly fine and is probably the better value. But for heavier use, faster material removal, and especially a more integrated dust-collection setup, this is the one I’d step up to.
