Giraffe Retractable 50' Extension Cord Reel 12 AWG

If you're setting up a garage or shop, a retractable extension cord reel is one of those upgrades that keeps cords off the floor and makes grabbing power for a quick job way less annoying. Pull out the amount of cord you need, lock it in place, and when you're finished it retracts back onto the wall-mounted reel instead of leaving you with another extension cord to coil up.
 
I specifically recommend the 12 AWG version for shop use. With extension cords, a lower gauge number means thicker wire, and 12 AWG is better suited for the higher electrical loads you can run into with power tools and other shop equipment. If I'm permanently installing a cord reel in a garage, I'd rather have the heavier-duty option than wish I'd bought it later.
