.:Bio:.
Vaughn and Co. is one of the most recognized bands on the Cincinnati original music scene and have been playing throughout the Tri-State for over 4 years now. Spun from the previous band known as Element, the current lineup has been together since late in 2004. As a 5 piece, many different musical styles and experiences are demonstrated within the music. Virtually every venue in Cincinnati has seen one of the members, if not the whole lot. Although the band is rooted in rock ‘n roll, you probably won’t hear two songs back to back without the reaching outside of that genre to add a flavor of funk, blues, reggae, latin, jazz, or even bluegrass. Often times you’ll hear many of these different styles seamlessly integrated within one composition. Vaughn and Co. shows are definitely one of a kind, full of energy and excitement and backed by a flow of musical creativity. This arrangement of musicians encouraged them to create the name Vaughn and Company after the originating member and primary song-writer, Ronnie Vaughn. Vaughn and Co. has recorded a four song demo CD, a full length debut CD "Wrong Tree" in 2006 which had great reviews and are now in the studio working on the sophomore effort which will be set to release in June 2009.
.:Ronnie Vaughn - Vocals/Acoustic Guitar:.
Ronnie Vaughn, the band’s founder, has his background as a front man for Hook 22 and Element. In Vaughn and Co. he has taken his song writing and lyrical talents to a whole new level. Leveraging his experience from previous bands, Ronnie is only comfortable when he’s pushing the limits of himself and the band members around him. His continuity of creativity has left a wake of loyal fans throughout the years that continues to grow. With Vaughn and Co. Ronnie’s talent appears as fresh and inspiring as it ever has.
.:Brandon Glanton - Percussion:.
Brandon Glanton joined up with Ronnie a couple of years ago while working in their previous project Element. Playing a variety of percussion instruments he rounds out the rhythm section that can’t be filled with just drums and bass. Whether its reggae or rock Brandon knows what to play, and when, demonstrating one of his best innate abilities: listening. Being a drummer as well as a percussionist you’ll also hear Brandon playing set on some tunes.
.:Craig Acree - Lead Guitar:.
Craig Acree had some big shoes to fill replacing long time guitarist Rob Vargo but he has succeeded and done it with his own unique style. Craig has brought a new energy to V&C and put his own twist on an already solid sound as well as bringing in some of his own music and sound to the mix. With a blend of jazz, blues and rock Craig adds a sound that is distinct and a perfect fit for V&C.
.:Lee Mahaney- Drums:.
Lee Mahaney joined the band in the fall of 2004 and brought a breath of rhythmic fresh air to the band. Not only does he artistically and tastefully compliment the groove of each song, he helps by arranging them. Live, you’ll hear Lee do things most other drummers dream of, and he’ll make it look like he’s not even trying. A noticeable improvement since Element is Lee and Brandon’s ability to play together, whether each of their parts is written or improvised. Lee is without a doubt one of the most artistic drummers in town.
.:John Hurd - Bass/Vocals:.
John Hurd was the latest member to join the ensemble, although only relatively soon after Lee. Having previous experience playing with Both Lee and Brandon, the transition to a new rhythm section was rather seamless. John has brought a new life to the band and besides writing some of the music John also enjoys arranging and pushing the creative envelope.
